In the Spring of 1971, Deb and Darrell Satern embarked on a journey that would shape their future and build a legacy in the exterior remodeling industry. Their vision began modestly, offering seamless gutters and downspouts to residential customers. Armed with a strong work ethic and unwavering determination, they would install by day and sell by night, carefully cultivating a reputation for quality and service. The sheer volume of customer requests led them to hire additional installers, a testament to the growing demand for their reliable and efficient solutions.

Throughout the 1970s, Satern Exteriors continued to flourish. The company steadily expanded its team, driven by a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of their clientele. By the late 1970s, Darrell recognized a shift in market trends, with permanent siding options gaining prominence. This insight propelled Satern Exteriors to further its reach, venturing into the realm of seamless steel siding in 1980.

Expanding Horizons

Darrell's vision extended beyond simply providing products; he was steadfast in his pursuit of offering the highest quality products paired with exceptional installation. As he guided the company forward, the product offerings diversified organically, encompassing soffit and fascia cover, windows, doors, custom trim cover, and more. The company's continued success necessitated further expansion, leading to the addition of more installers and a dedicated sales team.

A Legacy of Quality

In 1998, Satern Exteriors entered its second generation, welcoming Tate, Deb and Darrell's son, into the fold. Following his graduation from Iowa State University, Tate assumed a management role, working closely with his father and recognizing another burgeoning demand in the market: investment-grade roofing products. This fueled another strategic expansion, bringing permanent metal roofing solutions to both residential and commercial customers.

Family Owned and Operated

In 2013, Deb and Darrell Satern retired, passing the torch to Tate and Jennifer Satern, ensuring the continuation of the family legacy. Dedicated to preserving the core values that have guided Satern Exteriors since its inception, Tate and Jennifer strive to maintain the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
