Soon, he transitioned into roof coatings and commercial roofing, including the installation of single-ply and metal roofing systems. This experience led him to identify a persistent issue with every roof coating product in the market - the use of polyester fabric and/or seam tape as part of the leak-proofing process. These labor-intensive methods were prone to errors and often failed, even with the best installation.

In search of a better solution, Sonny began extensive research and collaborated with a chemist to co-develop FiberSeal Base, a groundbreaking product designed to mitigate installation errors, reduce labor requirements, and speed up the leak-proofing process. This revolutionary product marked the beginning of a new chapter in the roofing industry, leading to the introduction of the term 'fluid applied roofing' as the new brand identifier, and the birth of Fluid Applied Roofing.
