Brutsche founded the company, drawing from his extensive background in construction and his stint in the United States Marine Corps. He opened the doors to California Shingle & Shake in 1956 and soon expanded to Washington, laying the foundation for our company in Kent in 1967. Over the years, we have grown to become the largest independently owned roofing distributor in the state of Washington, with multiple branches across the state, including Auburn, Bremerton, Everett, Tumwater, Tacoma, and Longview, as well as our most recent addition, Mount Vernon.
