Established in 2016, our company was founded by three diverse and experienced owners who bring to the table a wealth of knowledge and expertise second to none.

Our Story

Our company was born out of a passion for excellence and a commitment to delivering outstanding results. Our owners, Mike and Geris Hopfauf, grew up in Mandan and stayed in Mandan to raise their three daughters after over 30 years of owning and operating Hopfauf Custom Builders. With a reputation for creating some of the finest, award-winning building companies in the area, including three-time Bismarck-Mandan Home Builder of the Year and ND Home Builder of the Year, Mike and Geris bring those same standards to RiverBend Roofing & Exteriors.

Our other owner, Nick Welle, grew up in Bismarck, graduated from UND in Grand Forks, and went on to become an expert in the insurance business and in roofing. With a FEMA-registered disaster inspector and a Colorado company, Colorado Continental Roofing and Solar, Nick's passion for ND drew him back to this area. His desire to be near family, hunting, fishing, UND hockey, and NDSU football brought him to join forces with Mike and Geris to create Riverbend Roofing & Exteriors. Nick's goal is to make all of your insurance headaches go away.
